347. Dua for Slaughtering Animal (Bismillah Allahu Akbar)
Anas (RA) said that the Prophet (ﷺ) placed his feet on the two jaws of a goat with white and black horns and sacrificed him saying Bismillahi wAllahu akbar.

عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ ضَحَّى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ، ذَبَحَهُمَا بِيَدِهِ، وَسَمَّى وَكَبَّرَ، وَوَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى صِفَاحِهِمَا .
Translation
Anas narrated: "The Prophet (ﷺ) sacrificed two white rams with black markings. He slaughtered them with his own hand, said 'Bismillah, Allahu Akbar' (In the Name of Allah, Allah is the Greatest), and placed his foot on their sides." (Bukhari 5565)

Right before you do the sacrifice, you say: Bismillah Allahu Akbar. If you’re doing it for yourself, you can add, “Allahumma hadha minka wa laka, hadha ‘anni.” This is the main dua for slaughtering animal in Islam. It’s called the qurbani takbeer, and it’s a big part of the process.
