820. Forbiddance of ascribing things to omens
Allaahumma laa tayra 'illaa tayruka, wa laa khayra 'illaa khayruka, wa laa 'ilaaha ghayruka
O Allah there is no portent other than Your portent, no goodness other than Your goodness, and none worthy of worship other than You. [1]
However, the Prophet (ﷺ) liked to take good omens. That is why when he heard a good word or a good word from a man, he liked it and said, I have taken your good word from your mouth. [2]
