475. Dua After Prayer for Forgiveness
سُبْحَانَكَ اَللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ
Prayer for Forgiveness English Transliteration
Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, 'ash-hadu 'an laa 'ilaaha 'illaa 'Anta, 'astaghfiruka wa 'atoobu 'ilayka
Prayer for Forgiveness English Translation
Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.
Aishah (RA) said: 'Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did not sit in a gathering, and did not recite the Qur'an, and did not perform any prayer without concluding by saying: (The dua is mentioned above)

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ
Aishah reported: When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) concluded his prayer, he would say: "Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance." حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي نُضْرَةَ، عَنْ الْأَغَرِّ الْمُزَنِيِّ ـ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ: كَانَ يَقُولُ فِي آخِرِ الصَّلاَةِ إِذَا سَلَّمَ: "سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ".
