904. Islamic Greetings (Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi)
Narrated Imran ibn Husayn: A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said:
Greeting in Islam in Arabic
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ
Greeting in Islam in Arabic English Transliteration
assalaamu ‛alaykum
Greeting in Islam in Arabic English Translation
Peace be upon you!
Another man came and said:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ
assalaamu ‛alaykum wa rahmatullaah
Translation
Peace and Allah's mercy be upon you
Another man came and said:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
assalaamu ‛alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh
Translation
Peace and Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you
He responded to his Salam. He then sat down. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Ten (rewards).
