Dua e Masura English Translation

O Allah, I ask You, by the fact that I bear witness that You are Allah. There is none worthy of worship but You, the Only ilah, Independent of creation, Who was not begotten and begets not, and none is equal to Him.

Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said, ‘By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by His Greatest Name, the one which if He is called upon by it, He responds, and when He is asked by it, He gives.

Hadith about the Dua

Translation

‘Abdullah bin Buraydah narrated from his father that the Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man saying: “O Allah, I ask You, as I bear witness that You are Allah, there is no deity except You, the One, the Self-Sufficient, Who has not begotten nor was He begotten, and there is none comparable to Him.” He (the Prophet ﷺ) said: “You have asked Allah by His Name, which, if He is asked by it, He gives, and if He is called upon by it, He responds.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Out of His kindness, Allah (ʿazza wa jall) gave us two times in salah to make dua. The Prophet ﷺ told us that after tashahhud, ""He should choose any supplication which he likes, and then ask Allah with it"" (Abū Dāwūd). You can recite dua e masura or any other dua you know after tashahhud.
