Section: Duas in prostration [sujood]
210. To do Dua more and more in the state of sijdaah
Abu Hurairah (RA) said that the Prophet (ﷺ) said that man is most close to his Lord in prostration. Therefore, do dua more and more in sujood.
211. Forbidden to recite the Qur'an in the state of prostration
Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, I am forbidden to read the Qur'an in bowing and prostration. But in ruku 'you describe the greatness of Allah. And do more and more Dua in sujood. Sujood is a suitable place for accepting your Dua. [1]
It is evident from the above-mentioned hadiths that, one should supplicate more and more in the state of prostration. And in this state, the dua is answered. So, one can supplicate any dua mentioned in authentic hadiths except quranic duas. Cause it is prohibited to supplicate by quranic dua in the state of bowing down and prostration.
212. The importance of slowly prostrating
Qatadah (RA) said, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, the worst thief is the one who steals the prayer. The Companions said, how do you steal the prayer? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: He who does not complete his bowing and prostration.
