سُبْحَانَكَ اَللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَبِحَمْدِكَ، اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي

Dua in Sajdah English Transliteration

Subhaanaka Allaahumma Rabbanaa wa bihamdika Allahum-maghfir lee

Dua in Sajdah English Translation

Glory is to You, O Allah, our Lord, and praise is Yours. O Allah, forgive me. [1]

Narrated from Aisha (RA), she said that according to the instructions of the Qur'an, [2] the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say this dua more and more in bowing down and prostration - (The dua is mentioned above)

Hadith about the Dua

Arabic Text

حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ قَالَتْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ وَسُجُودِهِ ‏ "‏ سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا وَبِحَمْدِكَ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ‏" ‏‏.‏

Translation

Narrated `Aisha: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say in his bowing and prostrations, "Subhanaka l-lahumma Rabbana wa bihamdika; Allahumma ghfir li.' (Exalted [from unbecoming attributes] Are you O Allah our Lord, and by Your praise [do I exalt you]. O Allah! Forgive me). [[1] Bukhari: 794 [2] Sura Nasr 110:3]
