190. Dua at Tahajjud (At Beginning)

Dua at Tahajjud English Translation
O Allah, You are the Sovereign, none has the right to be worshipped except You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant, I have wronged my own soul and have acknowledged my sin, so forgive me all my sins for no one forgives sins except You. Guide me to the best of characters for none can guide to it other than You, and deliver me from the worst of characters for none can deliver me from it other than You.
Hadith about the Dua
Ibn ‘Abbas reported: When the Prophet (ﷺ) would stand to pray at night, he would say: “O Allah, You are the Sovereign, none has the right to be worshipped except You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me all my sins, for none forgives sins except You. Guide me to the best of character, for none guides to the best of it except You, and turn away from me the evil of it, for none can turn it away from me except You.” (Sahih Muslim 771)
