Hadith about the Dua

Translation

Hudhaifah narrated: "I prayed with the Prophet (ﷺ) and he used to say in his bowing: 'Subhāna Rabbiyal-'Azīm (Glory is to my Lord, the Most Great),' and in his prostration: 'Subhāna Rabbiyal-A‘lā (Glory is to my Lord, the Most High).'" (Abu Dawud 870)

Frequently Asked Questions

During sajda, you can say, “O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, restore me, guide me, and provide for me.” This is from a hadith of Ibn Abbas, where the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would say this dua in sujood. You can also repeat “subhana rabbiyal a'la” as part of your sajda dua.
