Translation

Abdullah ibn Umar narrated: Whenever Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) mounted his camel for setting out on a journey, he would say “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the Greatest) three times, then say: “Glory is to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts). And verily, to our Lord we are returning. O Allah, we ask You on this journey of ours for righteousness, piety, and such deeds as are pleasing to You. O Allah, lighten this journey for us and make its distance easy for us. O Allah, You are the Companion in the journey and the Successor over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the difficulties of travel, from having a change of hearts and being in a bad predicament, and I seek refuge in You from an ill-fated outcome with wealth and family.” And when he returned, he would add: “We are returning, repenting, worshipping, and praising our Lord.”
