764. Dua to seek full faith, infinite grace and companionship of the Prophet (ﷺ)

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ إِيْمَانًا لَا يَرْتَدُّ، وَنَعِيْمًا لَا يَنْفَدُ، وَمُرَافَقَةَ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ (ﷺ) فِي أَعْلَى جَنَّةِ الْخُلْدِ

Allaahumma Inni As'aluka Imaanan Laa Yartaddu Wa Na'eeman Laa Yanfadu Wa Muraafaqata Nabyyinaa (ﷺ) Fee A'laa Jannatil-Khuld.

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud (RA) narrated, he said, “I was praying at the mosque. In the meantime, The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered into the mosque. Abu Bakr (RA) and ‘Umar (RA) were with Him. I recited surah An-Nisah. After completing the recitation, I praised Allah and sent salah upon prophet (ﷺ) then I make dua for myself. Then The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Ask! You will be given (what you want).” Then He (ﷺ) said, “Whoever wants to recite the Qur'an in it’s pure form, then he should recite it as Ibn Umm ‘Abd (Abdullah Ibn Mas’ud). Then I came back to my home. Sometimes later Abu Bakr (RA) came to me and said, “Did you remember the things you are wanting in your supplication?” I replied, “Yes. Those are: (The dua is mentioned above)” Then ‘Umar (RA) came to this slave of Allah to give the glad tidings. After reaching, he saw Abu Bakr (RA) was leaving from me. Then he [‘Umar (RA)] said, “If you did this, then you are always outdid me.”
