699. Dua for Protection from Laziness and Weakness
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say:
Dua for Protection from Laziness in Arabic
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، اَللَّهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِيْ تَقْوَاهَا وَزَكِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا، اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ لَا يَنْفَعُ وَمِنْ قَلْبٍ لَا يَخْشَعُ وَمِنْ نَفْسٍ لَا تَشْبَعُ وَمِنْ دَعْوَةٍ لَا يُسْتَجَابُ لَهَا

Allaahumma innee a‛oodhu bika minal-‛ajzi wal-kasali, wal-jubni wal-bukhli, wal-harami wa ‛adhaabil-qabr, Allaahumma aati nafsee taqwaahaa wa zakkihaa anta khairu man zakkaahaa anta waliyuhaa wa mawlaahaa, Allaahumma inni a‛oodhu bika min ‛ilmin laa yanfa‛u, wa min qalbin laa yakh-sha‛u, wa min nafsin laa tashba‛u, wa min da‛wat-in laa yustajaabu lahaa
Dua for Protection from Laziness English Translation
O Allah, I seek refuge with You from weakness, and laziness, cowardice and miserliness, old and infirm age, and the torment of the grave. O Allah, give my soul piety and purify it, for indeed You are the best of those who can purify it, You are it's Guardian and Master. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from knowledge that does not benefit, from a heart that does not get humbled [to Allah], from a soul which is never satisfied and from a supplication which does not get answered.
