Dua for Heavy Rain English Translation
O Allah! (Let it rain) on the summit of the mountain, plateau, where a variety of plants grow in the Valley.
Narrated by Anas Ibn Malik (RA): A man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said, “O Messenger of Allah! Our animals have been destroyed and the roads have been cut off. Pray to Allah (for rain)!” The Prophet (ﷺ) prayed to Allah. As a result, it rained on us from one Jumu'ah to another Jumu'ah. Then a man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, “O Messenger of Allah! Our homes have been destroyed, our roads have been cut off, and our cattle have been destroyed.” Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: (The dua is mentioned above) Then the clouds move away from Medina in the same way that clothes are removed from the body.

Anas narrated: The people of Medina suffered a drought during the lifetime of the Prophet (ﷺ). While the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the Khutbah (sermon) on a Friday, a Bedouin stood up and said, “O Messenger of Allah, our wealth has perished and the roads are cut off, so supplicate to Allah to send us rain.” So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands and said, “O Allah, send down rain upon us. O Allah, send down rain upon us. O Allah, send down rain upon us.” Anas said: By Allah, there were no clouds in the sky and no house or building stood between us and (the mountain of) Sal‘. Then a cloud appeared from behind Sal‘ like a shield. When it reached the middle of the sky, it spread and then it rained. By Allah, we did not see the sun for a week. Then a man entered through that gate on the next Friday while the Prophet (ﷺ) was delivering the Khutbah, and said, “O Messenger of Allah, our wealth has been destroyed and the roads are cut off, so supplicate to Allah to withhold the rain from us.” So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) raised his hands and said, “O Allah, let it fall around us and not upon us. O Allah, (let it fall) on the hills, small mountains, the valley bottoms, and places where trees grow.” The rain then ceased, and we went out walking in the sunshine. Shuraib asked Anas, “Was it the same man?” He replied, “I do not know.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1019)
