Hadith about the Dua
Al-Agharr (Abu Muslim) narrated: I bear witness upon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) or I bear witness from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) that when he sat in a gathering or stood up, he would say: “Subhanaka Allahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilayk (Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is no deity except You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance).” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, you say words that you did not used to say before.” He said: “It is an expiation for what takes place in the gathering.” (Bukhari 6307)
