Dua for Protection English Translation
Praise be to Allah who had saved me from what He had afflicted you with, and for honouring me over many of his creations.
Umar (RA) narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever sees a person afflicted and say: (The dua is mentioned above) then he shall be saved from that affliction for as long as he lives.” Grandson of Husain (RA), Muhammad al-Bakir said, dua should be uttered silently without hearing the afflicted person.
Hadith about the Dua
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever sees someone who is afflicted and says: ‘Praise be to Allah who has spared me from what He has afflicted you with, and has favored me over many of those whom He has created’—he will not be afflicted by that trial.”
