371. Powerful Dua Against Shaytan's Whisper

qul hu allah hu ahad English Transliteration

Allahu 'Ahad. Allahus-Samad. Lam yalid wa lam yoolad. Wa lam yakun lahu kufuwan 'ahad

qul hu allah hu ahad English Translation

He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent.

Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: People will continue to ask one another(questions) till this is pronounced: Allah created all things, but who created Allah ? Whoever comes across anything of that, he should say: (The dua is mentioned above) Then he spit three times on his left side, seeking refuge with Allah from Satan.

Hadith about the Dua

Translation

Abdullah ibn Khubaib reported: We went out on a rainy and extremely dark night searching for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to lead us in prayer. When we found him, he said, “Say.” But I did not say anything. Then he said, “Say.” But I did not say anything. Then he said, “Say.” I said, “O Messenger of Allah, what should I say?” He said, “Recite: 'He is Allah, [who is] One,' and al-Mu'awwidhatayn (the last two surahs) three times in the morning and evening; they will suffice you from everything.” (Abu Dawud 5082, graded Hasan by Al-Albani)
