Frequently Asked Questions

When Muslims do hajj or ʿumrah, they have to walk around the Kaaba seven times in a circle. They start and end the tawaf at the Black Stone. It’s a sunnah to touch or kiss the Black Stone if you can, but it isn’t fard. If you miss it, your tawaf is still valid. Some people make the dua for tawaf right at the Black Stone, but you don’t have to touch it for your tawaf to count.
