Names of Allah dua English Translation

O Allah, indeed I ask You since all praise is due to You, there is none worthy of worship but You, the Bestower, the Creator of the heavens and earth, O Possessor of majesty and honor, O Ever-living, O-Eternal. I am asking to you.

I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and a man was praying. When he bowed, prostrated and recited the tashahhud, he supplicated, and in his supplication he said: (the above mentioned dua). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Do you know what he has supplicated with?' They said, "Allah (SWT) and His Messenger know best." He said, 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he called upon Allah by His greatest Name, which, if He is called by it, He responds, and if He is asked by it, He gives.'

Hadith about the Dua

Translation

Anas bin Malik narrated that he was sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) and a man was praying, then he supplicated: "O Allah, indeed I ask You since all praise is due to You, there is none worthy of worship but You, the Bestower, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, O Possessor of majesty and honor, O Ever-Living, O Sustainer." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "He has supplicated to Allah using His Greatest Name, which, if He is called upon by it, He responds, and if He is asked by it, He gives."

Frequently Asked Questions

Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) shared that Allah sent down just one part of His mercy for all of creation, while He kept ninety-nine parts with Himself for the Day of Judgment. This shows how huge Allah’s mercy is, and it’s talked about in many places, even when people mention the asma ul husna, or 99 names of Allah.
