Hadith about the Dua

Translation

Mu'adh bin Jabal narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) heard a man saying in his prayer: "O Allah, I ask You, O Allah, the One, the Only, the Self-Sufficient Master, Who was not begotten and begets not, and there is none comparable to Him, to forgive me my sins. Indeed, You are the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." So the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "He has been forgiven, he has been forgiven."

Frequently Asked Questions

The best time to make dua in salah is right before you say the salam, so after you finish your tashahhud. You can ask Allah for anything at that point. Some people use a short dua like allahumma inni as aluka, or any dua praising Allah, just before ending the prayer.
