Section: Blessings after marriage
391. Asking coolness of eyes from family and becoming example for the righteous
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ اَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ اَعْيُنٍ وَّاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِيْنَ اِمَامًا
Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.
392. Congratulating the newlywed
بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِي خَيْرٍ
بَارَكَ اللّٰهُ لَكَ وَبَارَكَ عَلَيْكَ وَجَمَعَ بَيْنَكُمَا فِيْ خَيْرٍ
BaarakAllaahu laka, wa baaraka 'alayka, wa jama'a baynakumaa fee khayr
May Allah bless you, and shower His blessings upon you, and join you together in goodness.
Abu Hurairah (RA) said, "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say this to congratulate the newlyweds."
393. Dua for accepting wife or husband
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْاَلُكَ خَيْرَهَا وَخَيْرَ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا جَبَلْتَهَا عَلَيْهِ
Allaahumma 'innee 'as'aluka khayrahaa wa khayra ma jabaltahaa 'alayhi wa 'A'oodhu bika min sharrihaa wa min sharri maa jabaltahaa 'alayhi
O Allah, I ask You for the goodness of her and the goodness upon which You have created her, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of her and from the evil upon which You have created her.
