It is established that the Messenger (ﷺ) justel would visit a person, and supplicate for them and not blow on them. 'A'ishah (Ra) stated, “When any person amongst us fell ill, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) would recite:أَذْهِبِ الْبَأْسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ، وَاشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًاTransliteration: Adhhibil-ba’s Rabban-naas, washfi Antash-Shaafi, laa shifaa’a illaa shifaa’uka, shifaa’an laa yughadiru saqama.Take away the disease, O the Lord of the people! Cure him as You are the One Who cures. There is no cure but Yours, a cure that leaves no disease. [Bukhari: 5675]Also, Abu Sa'id (Ra) reported that the Angel Jibril (As) caine to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: “Muhammad, have you fallen ill?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Yes." so Jibril (As) said:بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيْكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيْكَ، مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ حَاسِدٍ، اَللَّهُ يَشْفِيكْ، بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيْكَTransliteration: Bismillaahi arqik, min kulli shay’in yu’dhik, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘aynin haasidin. Allahu yashfik, bismillaahi arqik. In the Name of Allah I perform Ruqyah for you, from everything that is harming you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye, may Allah heal you. In the Name of Allah I perform Ruqyah for you. [Muslim: 2186]So both of these narrations prove that it is not always necessary to blow or spit whilst performing ruqyah.
