اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيْئَتِي وَجَهْلِي، وَإِسْرَافِي فِي أَمْرِي، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي، اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي هَزْلِي وَجِدِّي وَخَطَايَايَ وَعَمْدِي، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي
Dua for Forgiveness for Sins and Mistakes English Transliteration
Allaahummaghfir lee khatee a-tee wa jahlee, wa israafee fee amree, wa maa anta a‛lamu bihi minnee, Allaahumma-ghfir lee hazlee wa jiddee wa khataayaaya wa ‛amdee, wa kullu dhaalika ‛indee.
Dua for Forgiveness for Sins and Mistakes English Translation
O Allah, forgive my sin, my ignorance, my excessiveness in my affairs, and whatever You are better aware (of my affairs) than myself. O Allah, grant me forgiveness [of the faults which I committed] jestingly or in earnest, and which I committed inadvertently and deliberately; and indeed, all of these [failings] are in me.
Hadith about the Dua
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، وَأَبِي، بُرْدَةَ ـ أَحْسِبُهُ ـ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الأَشْعَرِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَدْعُو " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي وَجَهْلِي وَإِسْرَافِي فِي أَمْرِي، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي هَزْلِي وَجِدِّي وَخَطَاىَ وَعَمْدِي، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي " .
Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: The Prophet (ﷺ) used to invoke Allah, saying, "Allahumma ighfirli khati'ati wa jahli wa israfi fi `Amri, wa ma anta a-'lamu bihi minni. Allahumma ighfirli hazali wa jiddi wa khata'i wa amdi, wa kullu dhalika 'indi." [Bukhari: 6399]
