877. Dhikr before starting the prayer after waking up

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when woke up at night, he uttered 10 times:

اَللَّهُ اَكْبَرُ

Allahu Akbaar

Translation

Allah is the Greatest.


10 times:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Alhamdu lillah

Translation

All Praise is for Allah.


10 times:

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

Sub’hanallahi wa bi’hamdihi

Translation

Glory and praise is to Allah.


10 times:

سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ

Subhaanal-Malikil-Quddoos

Translation

Glory is to the King, the Holy.


10 times:

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

astaghfir-ullaah

Translation

I seek Allah’s forgiveness.


10 times:

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

Laa 'ilaaha 'illAllah

Translation

There is none worthy of worship but Allah.


then he would say 10 times:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ ضِيْقِ الدُّنْيَا، وَضِيْقِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

Allaahumma inni a‛oodhu bika min deeqid dunyaa, wa deeqi yawm-il qiyaamah.

Translation

O Allah, I seek refuge with you from the hardships of this world, and the hardships of the day of resurrection.
