Dua Qunoot for Witr Salah English Translation

O Allah, guide me with those whom You have guided, and strengthen me with those whom You have given strength. Take me to Your care with those whom You have taken to Your care. Bless me in what You have given me. Protect me from the evil You have ordained. Surely, You command and are not commanded, and none whom You have committed to Your care shall be humiliated and none whom You have taken as an enemy shall taste glory. You are Blessed, Our Lord, and Exalted.

Translation

Al-Hasan bin 'Ali narrated: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me some words to say in the Witr prayer: 'O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, grant me wellbeing among those You have granted wellbeing, take me into Your charge among those You have taken into Your charge, bless me in what You have given, and protect me from the evil You have decreed. For indeed, You decree and none can pass decree upon You. Indeed, he is not humiliated whom You have befriended, and he is not honored whom You have taken as an enemy. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted.'"

Frequently Asked Questions

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that if someone shows others the right path, like teaching them to do good, they’ll get a reward just like the people who follow that guidance. Their reward won’t get smaller even if a lot of people follow. So, sharing things like dua qunoot and helping others learn is a big deal in Islam.
