891. Dua for Qurbani (During Hajj)

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا مِنْكَ وَلَكَ اَللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي

Dua for Qurbani English Transliteration

Bismillaahi wallaahu akbar, allaahumma inna haadha minka walak, allaahumma taqabbal minni.

Dua for Qurbani English Translation

I am sacrificing with the name of Allah. And Allah is the Greatest. O Allah! It's from you and for you. O Allah! Please accept it from me.

If it is on behalf of the family, then Wamin Ahli Baiti will be added after ‘Takbabbal Minni’. If the sacrifice is from someone else or if it is an Akika animal, take the name of that person or child after ‘Takabbal Min’. It is clear that no additional Dua on this subject is authentic.

Frequently Asked Questions

To do qurbani right in Islam, the animal needs to be healthy, not sick or hurt. It shouldn’t be blind, missing eyes, or have parts of its tail or ears cut off since chopping ears or tails is not allowed. The animal also has to be a tame one, not wild. The way you do the slaughter should follow proper dhabihah standards. Following these rules makes sure your qurbani is accepted.
