767. Seeking refuge from a narrow place on the Day of Resurrection

اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَاهْدِنِيْ وَارْزُقْنِيْ وَعَافِنِيْ‏ أَعُوْذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ ضِيْقِ الْمَقَامِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

Allaahummaghfir li, wahdini, warzuqni wa 'aafini. A‛oodhu billaahi min di'qil-maqaami yawmal-qiyaamah

Translation

O Allah, forgive me, guide me, grant me provision and good health. I seek refuge with Allah from the difficulty of standing on the Day of Resurrection.

Asim bin Humaid (R) said: "I asked 'Aishah (RA) how the Prophet (ﷺ)- start his Qiyam Al-Lail? She said: 'You have asked me something which no one before you has asked. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say the takbir (Allahu Akbar) ten times, the tahmid (Alhamdu lillah) ten times, the tasbih (Subhanallah) ten times, the tahlil (La ilaha illallah) ten times, and the istigfaar (Astigfirullah) ten times, then he would say: (The dua is mentioned above)
