703. Dua for Guidance and Wealth (Masnun Dua)
The Prophet (ﷺ) used to say:
Dua for Guidance in Arabic
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى، وَالتُّقَى، وَالْعَفَافَ، وَالْغِنَى
Dua for Guidance English Transliteration
Allaahumma, inni as'alukal-hudaa wat- tuqaa wal-'afaafa wal-ghinaa
Dua for Guidance English Translation
O Allah. I beg of Thee the right guidance, safeguard against evils, chastity and freedom from want.
Hadith about the Dua

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى " .
Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to supplicate (in these words): " O Allah. I beg of Thee the right guidance, safeguard against evils, chastity and freedom from want." [Muslim: 2721]
