Dua for Protection from Shaytan English Transliteration
A'oodhu billaahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem
Dua for Protection from Shaytan English Translation
I seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When you hear the crowing of cocks, ask for Allah's Blessings for (their crowing indicates that) they have seen an angel. And when you hear the braying of donkeys, seek Refuge with Allah from Satan for (their braying indicates) that they have seen a Satan." [1] When you hear the donkeys of dogs and the braying of asses at night, seek refuge in Allah, for they see which you do not see. [2]
Hadith about the Dua
Sulaiman bin Surad reported: I was sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) while two men were slandering each other. One of them was red in the face, and the veins on his neck were standing out. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I know a word, if he were to say it, what he feels would go away: 'I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil (A'oodhu billahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem).'" So they said to him, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil."
