Translation

Abu Wa'il narrated: ‘Abdullah said, “If any of you must praise his companion, let him say: ‘I think so and so is such and such, and Allah is his Reckoner. I do not assert anyone’s piety before Allah. I think him to be so and so, if he really knows that about him.’” (Bukhari 2662)

Frequently Asked Questions

In Islam, when someone does a good deed for you, it's always better to answer with kindness, not by hurting them or ignoring it. Praising someone and using good words for praising someone is a way to say thanks. When we thank others, we're actually showing our appreciation to Allah, the one who gives all good. The Prophet said, “Whoever does not thank people, does not thank Allah.”
