Dua for Debt Relief English Translation
O Allah, Master (and owner) of the Dominion (or Kingdom), You give the dominion to whom You will, and You take the dominion from whom You will, and You exalt whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is all goodness. Verily, You are Able to do all things. The Beneficent and the Merciful of this world and the hereafter, You bestow them on whomever You will and withhold them from whomever You will. Have mercy on me, (such) Mercy that would not make me in need of the mercy of others (than you).
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Mu'adh (RA), 'If you pray this Dua, Allah will repay you even if you have a mountain of debt.
Hadith about the Dua
Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: He had a debt, so he said: "Shall I not teach you words that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught me? If you had a debt as great as a mountain, Allah would pay it off for you. Say: 'O Allah, Owner of the Dominion, You give dominion to whom You will and You take dominion from whom You will; You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your Hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent. The Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter, You give them to whom You will and withhold from whom You will. Have mercy on me with such a mercy that makes me independent of the mercy of anyone besides You.'" [Sahihut Targib: 1821 | Graded Hasan by Al-Albani]
