11. Dua for forgiveness (Rabbighfirli wa tub alayya innaka)

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar (RA): We counted that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would say this dua a hundred times during a meeting -

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَىَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ

Rabbighfirli wa tub `alayya innaka Antat-Tawwabur-Rahim

Dua for forgiveness English Translation

O Allah forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.

Arabic Text

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَىَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Translation

Abu Hurairah narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say: "O Allah, forgive me and accept my repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful."
