Translation

O Allah, I am Your slave and the son of Your male slave and the son of your female slave. My forehead is in Your Hand (i.e. you have control over me). Your Judgment upon me is assured and Your Decree concerning me is just. I ask You by every Name that You have named Yourself with, revealed in Your Book, taught any one of Your creation or kept unto Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen that is with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, and the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness and the reliever of my distress. [1]

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (RA) said, The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “If anyone afflicted with anxiety, inquietude state and he says the above mentioned dua, then Allah will remove his distress and anxiety and altered it with happiness. Companions then said, ”So, we have to learn these words! He said,“Obviously! Whomsoever listens to these words, should memorize them.” This hadith's chain of narration is acceptable. [2] N.B. Women should say this dua like this: “Allaahumma inni amatuka, wa bintu ‘abdika wa bintu amatika….” Meaning: “Oh Allah! I am your slave girl, a daughter of your slave and a daughter of your slave girl….” In many hadiths, it is encouraged to make dua by the greatest name of Allah. In many narrations, it is said that if anyone ask Allah by this name then Allah will accept his dua.

Translation

O Allah, I ask You, by the fact that I bear witness that You are Allah. There is none worthy of worship but You, the Only God, Independent of creation, Who was not begotten and begets not , and none is equal to Him.

"Buraidah (RA) said, “The Prophet (ﷺ) heard a man supplicating with this dua, So he said: ‘By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he has asked Allah by His Greatest Name, the one which if He is called upon by it, He responds, and when He is asked by it, He gives."

Translation

O Allah, indeed I ask You since all praise is due to You, there is none worthy of worship but You, the Bestower, the Creator of the heavens and earth, O Possessor of majesty and honor, O Ever-living, O-Eternal. I am asking to you.

I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and a man was praying. When he bowed, prostrated and recited the tashahhud, he supplicated, and in his supplication he said: (the above mentioned dua). The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Do you know what he has supplicated with?' They said, "Allah (SWT) and His Messenger know best." He said, 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, he called upon Allah by His greatest Name, which, if He is called by it, He responds, and if He is asked by it, He gives.'
